SGP-22: Pre-approve external audit expenses for the order book release on EVM networks

Summary

This proposal asks the DAO to pre-approve covering the cost of the external audit for the remaining order book (limit orders) components and related MetaVaults contracts. The audit is the last remaining step before the order book can be released on Spectra’s EVM networks, including Flare.

Context

Since the start of the protocol six years ago, Perspective SAS has covered all development and audit costs on every EVM deployment. Development of the features in scope has been funded by the company, and part of the scope has already been audited. This external review is the last remaining step, in a best effort to keep the protocol audited and secure.

Perspective continues funding protocol development. This proposal covers the external audit only, capped at $21,000, and any future audit funding from the DAO would go through its own proposal.

The order book release includes a built-in protocol fee, set at launch and then adjustable through governance vote. Pre-approving this audit from the DAO reserve brings a feature that is otherwise ready to ship to every EVM network, Flare included.

Proposal

If accepted:

  • Up to $21,000 is transferred from the DAO reserve to a DAO operator wallet.
  • The funds are used solely to pay the external auditor. Only the invoiced amount is spent; any unused amount is returned to the DAO reserve.

Deliverables & target timeline

  • The external audit starts once the proposal passes and the engagement is confirmed.
  • The audit is publicly announced, and the final report is published on completion.
  • The transfer, the auditor payment and any return of unused funds are shared onchain for verification.
  • The order book release on EVM networks is targeted for the end of 2026, following the audit.

Temp Check

  • For: pre-approve up to $21,000 of audit expenses from the DAO reserve
